SAFE AMALGAM REMOVAL

At Advanced Dental Centre, we offer safe and effective removal of amalgam fillings using a
protocol called IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology).

The IAOMT protocol includes the following steps to ensure the safe removal of amalgam fillings:

1. Isolation: We use a rubber dam to isolate the tooth being treated, which helps to prevent the amalgam filling from being swallowed or inhaled during removal.

2. Specialised equipment: We use high-speed suction, a special dental drill, and a special carbide bur to remove the amalgam filling with minimal heat and vibration.

3. Replacement: We offer biocompatible restorative materials, such as composite resin or porcelain, to replace the amalgam filling.
